2001 Camry Engine?

Hi guys, I first registered here back in June of last year. Needless I have been very busy picking up, moving and settling into a new place.

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out my specific engine. I noticed in my owner's manual it says my Engine number should either be 5S-FE or 1MZ-FE. So after looking at my engine the only thing I could find was: F5S-V84. <-- So is this my actual engine number then?

If you have the inline 4 cylinder engine that's 5S-FE
If you have the V 6 cylinder engine that's 1MZ-FE

If you are have very little knowledge about cars, you can simply count the sprak plug wires. The 4 cylinder 5SFE engine will have 4 spark plug wires going in to the top of the engine. The 6 cylinder 1MZFE will have 6 spark plug wires, 3 going in to the front and 3 going in to the back, in a V shape. If you can't not figure this out, call Toyota corporate customer service at 1-800-331-4331 and be prepared to give the rep your VIN number. That stands for Vehicle Indentification Number. You can get it off your insurance card, or by looking through the drivers window on the lower driver's side of the windshield. Customer service can then tell you which engine you have.

Thanks for the replies guys. I do have a 4 cylinder...so it must be a 5SFE engine.
