3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
As some of you may know, I'm in the process of saving up for an S2K. I'm starting to see the end of the tunnel so it's time to start looking into what I'm going to do with the Camry. KBB on the car stock is a little under $4,000, and I'm guessing I've spent $5-6,000 in the past year on the car for the turbo system and the rebuilt transmission. No, I'm not thinking I'm going to get $10,000 for this car, or anything close to it...
Obviously I'd love to sell the car with the turbo system still on it, but I'm not sure if that's something that I'm going to be able to do. Ideally I'd like to sell the turbo system as a whole and swap it out for someone's stock parts. I'm not planning to sell the car this weekend or anything, just checking the interest (if any) from the guys that known Camry's the best. Shoot me a PM with any comments, questions, offers, ect.
Quick Details on the Car
- 1995 Toyota Camry XLE V6
- 159,000 Miles
- White (paint is in great condition)
- Lip Spoiler
- Leather
- 1MZ-FE V6 Engine
- Holset HY-35 Turbocharger
- Custom Exhaust/Intercooler Piping (does have exhaust leaks)
- Stock Muffler
- Freshly rebuilt automatic transmission (paid $1400 for this a couple of months ago)
- AEM Tru-boost electronic boost controller / gauge
- AEM digital UEGO wideband air/fuel ration gauge
- HKS SSQV Blow-off Valve
- Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X891 Receiver
- JBL GTO Series Speakers all around
I've ran up to 12lbs of boost on it, stock internals. No cat, stock muffler. Wouldn't recommend 12psi on the tranny as-is, don't want to tear this one up. The car has never been dyno'ed and has not been tuned.
I think that about covers it... contact me with any questions. Thanks!
I hate to see it go too, that's why I'd love for someone here to get it so I can watch it progress. And yes, it does have the highly sought after lip spoiler. =)
but I don't think that any of us have actually ever seen your car...so it's kind of hard for anybody to say if they'd like to make and offer for it or anything, if you know what I mean...

Here are some pics taken right after the turbo install:
Some of the piping is different and I put a different turbo in there. Same model, the current one was freshly rebuilt and in alot better shape. I forgot to mention the suspension upgrades... Tokiko shocks & struts with Eibach springs. 1" drop.
I believe the stuff is called "green hornet". Rated for up to 60psi if I remember correctly. It's super hard green plastic fused together with high-heat rubber. I painted it all black so I wouldn't be looking all crazy under the hood, atleast, no more crazy than a turbocharged Camry.
