Ok so i need some help! Around speeds between 50mph and 90mph my hood gets caught by the wind. No i usually know how to fix this just by tighting the lock and i even had my friends car shop look at it and we are clueless.. there is noway to tighting it? i just want my hood to lockdown nice and tight so it doesnt move cause its kinda starting to get really annoying! any help would be greatly appreaceated!
your hood might vibrate because there is a gap between the hood and the rest of the car where there normally isn't, due to damage to the hood, causing fast moving air to catch under the hood forcing it to move up. the pressure from the air moving over the hood forces it to move back down. this cycle creates vibration in the hood.
another possibility is that your hood latch is too high up, again causing air to flow where it normally shouldn't. adjust your hood latch all the way down. there are also rubber hood supports on each side of the frame located close to the headlights. you can try adjusting those.
check to make sure the bolts holding the hood and the hinges are tight to specification. loose hardware will amplify vibrations in the vehicle.

In my 95 model there are two rubber bumpers on the front corners that the hood rests on when it is closed. These can be screwed up and down to adjust the tightness of the latch. The 90 model had metal bolts that the bumpers were fixed to. The 95 model has spiral threads cut into the bumpers themselves.

Its deff the 2nd one cause i have no large gaps, they are all flush and in order. My car has no recorded wrecks in its past and has all of the orig body pieces on it. So if kep doesnt could u tak a pic to show? i have an idea but im in school atm and cant go out and look to like 4 lol.
No time to post pics right now. These are about 6" behind the headlights and about as far outboard as you can get. They are about 1" in diameter. When the hood is closed, the two front corners rest on top of them.

does the hood move while you are driving, from wind catching it?, go and try to move the hood up and down like you are trying to open it, but leave the latch closed, if it moves, open it and look for gaping holes directly above the headlights that should have rubber bump stoppers in them, someone probably removed them to reduce the weight of the car, to increase gas milege, if there are rubber things in gthere, then look closely, you can adjust them, unless they have been replaced with hood bumpers from an old for dickup truck, in that case youre screwed.
hmm ok ill look today cause now i know what ur talkin about lol! ill look in a lil tho cause i just woke up but yes my hood u can move up and down with hood closed. hmm
i did that to mine and it reduce the shaking but oh well...

The purpose of those rubber covered adjustment screws is to level up the hood's surface with the surface of
the fenders. They don't serve any other purpose but do incidentally have an effect on how tightly the hood
latch holds down the hood.
For just a few dollars, go to the Toyota dealership near you and order a replacement set of the rubber
gaskets that are secured to the underside of the hood with snap-in fasteners. They serve a purpose
and you just found out what it is. if they're in good condition, and they're present, the hood won't shake
at any speed.

Any pictures of what YOU are talking about? I adjusted my latch all the way down and it still shakes. My rubber pieces that I took the picture of above are all the way up. Id REALLY appreciate it, as both my Camrys are doing that.
