jiggle valve on thermo question

I'm changin my thermo and notice the spiral and everything being different. It is a OEM part though. Do I follow the same jiggle valve position, which faces 11ish o clock or do I follow the spiral?

The jiggle valve should be at the top of the thermostat housing (it's designed to allow air, which accumulates at the top of the passage, to flow to the radiator). The spring looking thermocouple (spiral?) should be pointing to wards the engine and the pointed top should be pointing to wards the radiator.

I thnk i got it right. But so far no leaks and I have FRESH coolant in it. HEHE>

Makes it feel good. While flushing I flushed out lots of crap, like muddy color lol.But I changed my thermo, some hoses and I think shes good to go. =)
