quick question..what's this cable?

Hey guys...I'm still extremely new at this, and kind of...exploring the engine. I saw those two connectors unhooked...I'm not dumb enough to just bam connect them just because they're unhooked, but I do wonder what they are for. Does anyone know? The connector on the right hooks up to the one on the left...on the left the connector is hidden. I would have raised it up, but the picture was for the motor mount, not for the connector.

Thanks.

Grounding strap. Just connect them.

Also, change your mount right there. It;s toast.

Yeah, but do you know what it's a grounding strap for?

Engine. Your entire car IS the ground. So it just gives better ground is all.

I agree with ASG14, change that "FB" dog bone engine mount pronto. I got it replaced with a new one from eBay for about $20.

Tran, the mount we're all looking at is called the dog bone mount. Of all the mounts this one blows the easiest.
How did we all know it's gone? look at the end that says "FB". Look at the rubber inside it, see how it's all cracked? it shouldn't be cracked, it should be either solid or solid with minor holes (depending on the oem replacement maker).

The good news? it's a 20-30 buck part and with the help of a jack and piece of 2x4, you'll have it relaced in 10 minutes.
The bad news? Usually when the dogbone is gone, (especially if you've had to replace it more than once this year) that another of the two engine mounts is shot as well.

Search engine mounts for homework, there are many many threads on it. And if you do, you'll be rewarded with a "how to" find/know which of your mounts is dead.
