Lighting Advice

Hey guys,

So heres the problem, My headlights are crap. I did the 9005 mod and the output is still bad. So I was wondering if i could do the following:

Since my headlights are terrible at output, I want to buy some really blue lights say 8000k. So the headlights will be useless for output, but i'll have nice colour.

To light up the road, I want to use fog lights with H4 bulbs. (4300k bulbs, silverstar ultras). But I want to hook them up so that they will turn on with my headlights. When I installed my radio, I noticed there was a power wire back there that was getting 12V when the lights were on. It was called illumination or something in the wiring diagram.

So the question is, will it be safe to run a pair of 55W lights from this wire? Also would this be a good setup to solve my lighting woes?

Thanks

that lead is only to tell the hu whether or not the lights are on, for dimming features. That wire wouldn't have anywhere near the power to run headlights off of. That functions like the amp turn on lead, it doesn't power the amp, just lets it know when to be off or on.

Yeah i found that out.

I tested it with a volt meter and the dimmer is controlling the voltage output.

I think i'll just hook it up to the parking lights

tap teh wire into the headlight fuse.. ran fine for my fog lights.. but now i have it tap for the seat heater fuse for more control, yet knowing i cant leave them on by accident.. the key has to be in the on position so it sends power to the switch...

the problem with this is that all the angles will be off ....

fogs are not positioned to light up the road like headlights are - you would be better off finding the source of your problem w/ your headlights

are your headlights fogged/hazed? are they aimed incorrectly?

i get great output with Sylvania XtraVisions, Cool Blues, and Silverstars ... i currently have the Cool Blues in the Low and SilverStars in the High - but i have XtraVisions in my garage in case i want to switch
