I have ECT and O/D ON on my 94 Camry XLE and normally when I rev off from a stop, it rolled at 1st gear to either when I let off the gas or it hit 6k rpm. But just now when I was driving home whenver I rev it from stop, 1st gear it goes to ~ 4k rpm (max torque) and shift to 2nd. Why did the gearing pattern change and anyway I can keep it (settings?) because I like it when it shifts at 4k.

transmission behavior depends on the ECUs calculations, there is no simple way to change anything unless you know your electronics.

Your engine is cold? It doesn't rev past 4 when its cold. Mine didn't.
