But before even thinking of fixing that, you should have a proper 5s-fe or 1MZ-fe dropped back in there, cause you're getting robbed my friend.
SORRY this is for older camrys.........

the charcoal canister is on the drivers side wall of the engine bay. the TVV that operates it is just about between the distributor and valve cover front corner. it goes from the canister to the TVV with a small rubber hose.

Not for all years, I wrote a DIY on how to change de VSV on 98+ Camrys, and your is a '99.

'97's canister was in the engine bay somewhere underneath the battery, I would have to double check on my father's '97 to be sure, but the design changed in '98 and it's at the back.

DIY : P0446 Charcoal canister VSV replacement

4th Generation engine VIN

Thanks for the tips. Could anyone tell me where the engine VIN is found on a 5SFE? (or 3SFE, if it really is a 3SFE)

Oh and another note: When I turned on the ignition and started my car, the check engine light was on. I disengaged the parking brake as I was about to shift to reverse, and as I was backing off the check engine light turned off. It stayed off all the way as I returned back home. Im going to observe if the sensor is gonna go on again in the next few days. Hopefully not anymore.

wierd that it would turn off without the efi fuse being removed/ circuit being opened...

i beleive its on the rear of the motor somewhere next to the rear motor mount. not 100% sure. but i think either way you have to look from the bottom.
