Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Ok, folks, here are the mock-ups of my soon to be projector headlights with the prototype clear gen3.5 lenses made by Greg Cheban. Should I go black/chrome or all black? My car is black, so, I'll probably paint them all black, but I'd like to get your thoughts on it as well. By the way, those are bi-xenon projectors. I have something "special" planned for the now former high-beam areas. Let's see if anyone can guess what I have in mind...
well id guess foglights for your highbeams. as for color i say black housing with the chrome bezel around the projector. but then again it depends on the color of the car and accesories. i really like the all chrome everything idea just because its cleaner.
if you get pre-blacked out headlights, or black chrome, then it's a different story...but when it's just painted black, it can look rather ricey sometimes...not always...but sometimes. It also doesn't usually look quite as clean of an install either

i say black with chrome.. IMO, it'll match up better with the black chrome theme.. ask someone who is good with photoshop to chop it up and see how it looks like..

id say Chrome, but you need to put up a pic with them on the car. i think chrome goes very well because of the trim, and also you have the chrome grille...post some pics with each one on the car
The chrome will look more oem. The black as you have it right now does not look that good. I did half/half for practicality reasons. Black in the projector area to minimize stray light reflection, and chrome in the high beam to maintain high beam capability.

somehow the white ones looks more clean..i'd go with the white ones...but thats just me...if you somehow make the black ones cleaner more smoother..then the black ones

Well, I will not be using a the high-beam areas for that purpose. I'll leave that as a mystery untill I'm done fabricating the lights.

I do like trying to make mods look oem, but some things just really have to stand out.
As for the paint, all I had on hand for the mock-up was some gloss black hi-temp engine enamel. I'll more than likely use regular high gloss black for the final build. I just used that engine paint to get an idea of how it would look. Another thing is that the "chrome" in the oem headlights isn't exactly in perfect mirror-like condition. I found some bubbling, and fading in the chorme. Worse comes to worst, I'll have to use "chrome" paint on the main reflector areas, and black on the rest. That is, if I go black/chrome. Well, let's face it, even if the rattle-can says chrome, it looks more like silver when it hits whatever your trying to paint. So, if go black/silver...
On top of everything else, I've already got a CF trunk (with a matching hood in the future), so trying to look oem is out the window.
