Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I received a $1000 quote when I originally needed my flex pipe replaced, but the shop wanted to replace a huge section of the exhaust, not just the flex pipe. I went to a legit muffler shop and had them replace my flex pipe only and install a new muffler (with a mandrel bend) for $140.

The flex pipe allows the exhaust system to flex as the engine moves. If that part was not there, the exhaust pipe would collapse or break at that point.
and then what do you plan to do with that piece of ebay pipe? glue it on?
he said 70-100 with welding at a shop...though, of course, if you can weld....then it really is a $10-15 job, of course
as for the $1000 quote from the dealership...it's not for replacing the flexpipe, it's for replacing the entire y-pipe/down-pipe....which is, of course, still absolutely ridiculous...
