hmm

This happened to me once in my Gen 3. I have not dug into it yet as I have not had the car for more than a couple weeks. I suspect a failing solenoid in the trans. Could be as simple as a poor connection at the trans. My ride had thrown a rod through the block and I bolted in a replacement so I have no idea if this condition existed prior to the transplant. I will throw on the Solus and check out the data display next time I run it cold to see what I can find. I will update this thread after.

Well if his case was anything like mine....I had cruise locked at 60MPH, engine was just over 3K RPM. This condition stayed for about a mile then the trans shifted into OD. Hitting the OD button on the shifter repeatedly did nothing while this occured. Happened only once and only while the trans was cold.

The Trans hols 1st and 2nd on the 1MZ to higher RPM's untill warmed up. If you floor it, it will not go over 4500RPM's in any gear as well.

I also read it in the owners manual somewhere, and I think there was more info on it too, but not sure. It;s just a little tidbit most people do not know. I found out the 1st time I floored the car when cold and nearly got rear ended cause of the slow acceleration, lol.

This happens on my Gen 3 as well whenever it is relatively cold outside and I have yet to look into it. I planned on changed the transmission fluid this summer sometime to see if that would help anything, but have yet to do it. I was going to ask my mechanic and anyone here if they would know what might be causing it. Looking forward to the update frenum49 and any info pertaining to it. Sorry I can't help, but hopefully I'll have something after speaking with a couple people I know around here.
