3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I got my 1995 Camry radio stolen a few months back and just realized that the thieves took everything (metal brackets, little pocket under the radio, lighter, etc.). Was wondering where I can purchase the pocket that fits under the radio, the metal brackets, surrond trim, and lighter?
I have found a replacement radio, just need the pieces to make the install happen. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Didn't see the storage bin or lighter on eBay right now. Somebody may list them later.
If none of those pans out, you might contact ToyotaPartSales.com and see if they can help you.
Last resort would be a local dealership where you will pay the most $$ possible for the parts.
Did you get a factory replacement for the head unit or an aftermarket unit? If you got an aftermarket unit, the factory storage bin that goes underneath it won't likely work well and you may need to get an aftermarket bin from Best Buy or Crutchfield.com, etc.
I've got a spare pocket-thingy if you want it for the price of the shipping cost. Do you have a Paypal account? If you want it, PM me with your shipping address and I'll let you know how much it'll be.
When I bought a head unit from Crutchfield they supplied one for free, which I didn't need. So it's not Toyota OEM, but it'll do if you're not fussy. I kinda remember thinkin' it's surface texture didn't match perfectly. Close, but not perfect.

Just call up the dealer and get their price on the parts you need. If they seem too high, then at least you have the dealer’s price to know if you are getting a good deal at wherever you end up.
Whatever the dealer’s price turns out to be, you can save about 20% to 25% off by going through www.toyotapartsales.com though shipping will be $8 or $10 or so. You’ll need to email them to get the part number if this is the route you want to go, good company but their search engine is lousy.
The advantage of going to a junkyard is that you’ll be able to get the trim ring, the pocket, and the bracket for one price. If you do go to the junkyard, take a socket wrench with a 10 mm socket, a six inch or longer extension for the wrench, and a couple small screwdrivers in case you need to remove the factory radio from the bracket.
And of course there is always ebay.
Please post back with the prices you find and what you end up doing.
eddie926 - nice find, actually might pick those up, thanks, bro...
BMR - PM sent, looking for pics
Heat - do you have a part number for that item? The thing with the junkyard is that the ones I have found usually are cd/tape/fm/am, so they are double din. I purchased an after market single din. (the single din I did buy is an old one, not capable of playing mp3 cd's, but it has a aux port to plug in my iPod or other mp3 players.
You can buy the aftermarket single din pockets from places like Best Buy or Crutchfield. I just installed a single DIN Alpine from Crutchfield (came free with the HU) in my '95 LE. The factory pocket with the door wouldn't work with it so I installed the aftermarket pocket that Crutchfield sent.
The aftermarket pockets will guaranteed be a lot cheaper than the factory pocket from the stealership.
yeah, i sent BMR a text.. so hopefully i will be able to pick his up...
i checked Best Buy, did not find it... did not even know if walmart will have it, but will check...
indomia, I'll send you a pic; probably tomorrow. It's still in the plastic wrap it came from Crutchfield in, so I'll have to open it to take pix. BTW, there are screws in the bag, but no brackets.
It's 1 lb when it's all boxed up. Shipping via UPS ground is $9.41, and via the post office it's $4.80.

Let me know when you get that pic. I most likely going to pick it up from you.... and I got the brackets...
And yeah, they don't come with any brackets. They attach to the factory bracket that you were looking for. The factory brackets are double DIN brackets. Your HU attaches to the top half of the bracket and the pocket attaches in the lower half.
