4th Generation Most modest drop on Gen4's is Tein H Techs?

I'm looking for springs for a '97 Camry V6, just something to replace OEM springs after around 120k miles. They are going to be paired with KYB struts, so I'm thinking to get aftermarket springs.

I looked at the Tein H.Tech, they seem to drop 0.9" front and 0.1" rear, which is practically nothing, and that's fine. It might just be slightly stiffer then stock, but all I want is just an OEM replacement more or less.

Everywhere I look, it shows that the H Tech's are only for the SXV20L body, which is the 4cyl Camry, any idea if it'll work on the V6 models? Maybe it might just be a slightly bigger drop due to the added weight, but would it fit?

Also, any websites that you guys have dealt with that you may recommend? Otherwise I might just go to a local Tein authorized dealer.

teins are stiff though...they are probably the softest after market springs

i like em, especially since they even out the gap in teh fenders and give it a more agressive stance, and they are pretty stiff. the H techs are very progressive, soft and comphy untill under load and then they stiffen right up. designed for daily use.

Yeah, that's the exactly what I wanted to hear, a daily usage application for those springs is what I'm expecting.

According to: http://www.tein.com/products/high_tech_price_list.html

It says 4cyl only, this would work for V6's correct? Any other recommendations on suspension parts to change at 120k miles? I've done front strut mounts as well as all 4 struts. Would sway bar end links be a good thing to change? Any brand recommendations other then OEM?

They don't have an s-tech for the camry? The h-tech is more designed for comfort and smoother ride (from what i've heard).

So just visited the link, DAMN THOSE ARE EXPENSIVE. My s-techs cost $230.

i had h-techs and those were soft .. too soft for me so i went with the s-techs recently. H-Techs and GR2s is what you want if you're looking for comfort- Also, i suggest an upgraded RSB because the h-techs are so soft- when you throw 'em into corners.. it gets pretty sloppy from all the pitch.

If you drive subtle.. then the RSB isn't necessary, just don't expect too much performance from the h-techs. Good Luck!

^^Let me know how they are, I'm seriously considering getting S-Tech's to replace my Eibach's.

S-Techs for a 99 solara was $165 shipped from a good powerseller on ebay. It might of went up but definitely not over $200. Yep what's new everything is going up *sigh*

Yeah, I do have KYB GR-2 struts all around and a Whiteline RSB to balance things out a bit. Not looking for complete street sport on this car, just a good comfort and luxury ride with a bit of help on turns with the RSB and front strut bar.

I'd think S-Tech's would of course drop more then Eibachs, but I'd probably also be able to say the S-techs would be more stiff of a ride, but wouldn't last as long as Eibachs would.

awww man i thought that .9/.1 front/rear drop thing on the h-techs was a mistake. it didnt sound right to me at first (.1" drop for lowering springs ?), and then i saw a site that displayed the drop as 1.1/.9 so i deemed that more credible and purchased them.

looks like i'll be putting them up for sale soon ... i need a bigger drop

... so anyone looking for h-techs keep an eye out for them in the 'for sale' section real soon ...

i think id personally perfer the S-techs, but i also like a stiffer ride. which the S-techs give. it is a miss conception that H-techs are "soft". these were designed to be softer under normal driving conditions then the s-techs. they still arent all around stiffer then the s-techs but one of the better if not the best(depending on your preferances) all around ride of any spring avalible.

^^ ya theyd be perfect if the drop resulted in equal clearance between the fender and the tires in the front and rear imo ... im not sure i like the raked look

wel its raked or uneven gap. the raked look is a result of the evening out of the fenders gap front and back. otherwise you get an even drop but uneven fender gap. that all comes down to personal preferance. i like the raked look of the car but like an even fender gap even more. so teins are good for me.
