So I got 17.5 in rims. The tires on my car are stock 195/70R14 and the tires on the rims are 225/55R17.

I need to replace all the tires and need to know if its safe to replace the tread with the same tread on the tires; it is okay to use 17 tread on a 17.5 in rim? Or is their a better size for my camry. I tried using the calculator but it jsut gives me 17 or 18 in rims and on the ones that support 17.5 in rims, they dont make 17.5 tread.

That's a very strange size. Where did you get 17.5" rims?

Personally, I wouldn't retread tires unless they go on a trailer.

Nah i wont retread them. I wanna buy new tread. I got them from a friend really cheep. They are really nice and chrome so i really wanna use them.

id try to only buy 17.5s anything else and it wont fit right. they are gonna cost ya though. thats a VERY rare size. however 17" tires will work but be a tight fit and ware out the beads faster.

depend on the tires.. the tires i have the falken 512 have it printed on the side saying do not mount on 15.5 rims..
