I installed new NGK Iridium spark plugs this weekend and noticed the gap on them was 0.040, while the haynes says it's supposed to be 0.043 so I gapped them anyway, thinking I was pretty anal about it but didn't feel like pulling them out later after researching but it made me curious.

Anybody else bought Iridium plugs and widened the gap just a little like I did or left them as is?

I left them as is. Iridium you're not supposed to adjust the gap (from what I read).

I just took out the old plugs and installed the iridium, didn't even check the gap lol but it has been fine over 5k miles.

Pretty sure that NGK recommends that you not change the gap on the plugs on platinum and iridium plugs. Same goes for Denso.
