Hissing.

Today I was coming home from school and I noticed a hissing sound. I pulled over look for and liquid leakage nothing. I figured im set it might just be an exhaust leak.

So above 2.5 grand I get a hissing sound from about mid body of my car 4 cylinder. It wont make the sound in neutral, and makes alot of hissing in second.

My problem is I can't get it to hiss unless im in gear moving with atleast 2.5G. So I cant use my ears.

I was thinking exhaust leak but it sounds way to high pressured to be a exhaust leak. My buddy said vacuum hose but I know nothing about that system to trouble shoot or even where to find the hoses.

So its a 4 cylinder with no liquid leaks, 93, I take good care of this car..

notice if its running any different?

it could very well be an exhaust leak. theres alot of pressure in an exhaust system especially as it raises up the rpm range.

same reason i only hear my exhaust leak in reverse. when the engien is under load then it can change the pressure in exhaust to a degree. but if your loosing performance then that may not be an exhaust leak. can ya get a clip of it?

It's not under load when you are idling. Only other thing you can do is have someone rev it a little..but it still wont be under load.

Almost sounds like you have a turbo..lol
