Question Whats needed to put a 4 cyl into a 94 with a v6?

Well i've got a 93 toyota camry that has been wrecked so it cant be driven, but the motor and trans are in perfect shape. I am thinking of buying a 94 camry with a V6 in it but its having engine troubles I believe according to the owner. Also its having transmission troubles to. So I was thinking just put this perfect 4 cyl (better mpg) into the 94 and just yank that V6 out.

I suppose i can just use all the parts off the 93 for the 94 right? Like motor mounts and stuff like that. Both cars are complete, so I figured it should work I just thought I would ask here first if its an easy swap.

I've got the wiring harness and all that good stuff out of the 4 cyl. Which I know I will need that. I searched on here but did not find anything about doing this. So if you can help me out possibly I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks.

The I4 only gets like 2mpg better.....It's not that much of a difference.

Best way is to drop then entire subframe with everything still attched and bolt it up. And you'll need to change the entire dash harness most likely. I know you have to when doing an I4 to V6 swap in that year, but not positive for a V6 to I4 swap.

Well I have every bit of wiring out of the 93. Oh and the 93 is an LE I believe and the 94 is an XLE just so ya know.

Or maybe the V6 is just needing some maintenance, i'm not really for sure bc I actually haven't driven the car. Maybe he just thinks all this stuff is going wrong with it when it really just needs plugs ..

Are the transmissions the same for the V6 and 4? Bc the trans in the 93 was just recently rebuilt before the wreck.

Engine, trans, starter wiring and the computer.

If you do go this route be sure to retain the donor car as there may be lots of small differences requiring a part, hose, etc off the old car.

Put a little work into getting the V6 back up and running right. If there's nothing wrong in the block, heads, or intake, it's definitely worth fixing it. Post the problems with it and no doubt you'll get plenty of help in
diagnosing the problem. I've got a little experience, myself, with some odd and interesting problems.

Once you experience the smooth power of the V6, you'll turn your nose up at the 4 cylinder motor.
