3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I can't believe it--I lost both my Camrys in the space of a month
So the V6 grenaded it's engine, Toyota said "screw you" on the sludge warranty, it's done.
This evening, I was giving a friend a ride home in the 4 and some dude pulls out right in front of me from a stop sign and I blast him in the right front. Airbags deploy, burned my arm, and jacked up my right arm.
Police found him at fault.
My car==totaled.
His car==Honda Civic. Goes to show you can't trust a Honda owner.
I have JUST put in a set of Eibachs and KYBs as well as a TRD RSB.
Anyway based on the experiencen with Toyota, and based on the check I expect to get from the insurance company, I'm thinking NOT another Toyota. Except for all the parts I have.

i wouldnt let one crappy dealership ruin your faith in toyota - im sure there are a large number of us that would tell you that Toyota is definitely one of the best, if not the best - and thats from experience
im only in the DC Area once a year, but i know around here that there are some quality Toyota's and 2 good dealerships
just be carefull & selective, whatever your next car is - make sure you get what you want, and make sure you know the cars full history, as well as any TSBs or Issues!

Thanks for the well wishes. My right arm feels weak. It hurts to type and I feel like I don't have any strength in the hand. So I'll try to go to the Dr. tomorrow, only I have no car and my kid's freaking school is cancelled.

Damn that sucks, I'm sorry man. Hope everything heals up quick. It sucks that the dealership hasn't been good to you, but whatever you go on to hopefully you'll be happy with the next ride

considering Toyota again! I have own 95 Subaru Legacy, 94 Acura Integra, 96 Mazda Miata. I found the 95 Toyota Camry is the best out of the four, in teams of build quality. And I have a OK dealer near by my house.
mann! when it rains it pours - that's okay.. we all have our worst days where it seems like everything is just too much to let sink in. Add the fact that frustration is probably up to your neck.. but you'll never know- this could be a blessing in disguise. glad ur okay.

Glad that your not feeling too bad, but I would get that hand looked at. I am with you on the Honda though. With the Gen 6 v6 not on the list of recomended cars I will get a Honda when this wonderful car dies (if it ever does). I saw a new Accord Coupe at the coast last week and it was hot, hot, hot.

The problem with G6 Accords ('98 through '02) was their automatic transmission. Get a manual transmission and you'll be fine, though I don't know when (or even if) the Accord came with V6 and manual (I do know that it didn't exist for the '98 and '99 model years).
That being said, the Accord I4 with manual really is a peppy car and gets a little better mileage than the third generation of Camrys (the only generation that I am somewhat familiar with - I have a '99 Accord LX with manual transmission and a '95 Camry LE with automatic).
2003-2007 Accords Come with a V6 and 6MT. VERY fun, quick, and with a nice exhaust it sounds like sex. Also the 03-07 coupe V6 6MT looks like sex with a simple lowering, front lip, and nice rims.
Honestly, i would take that over a Camry anyday.
