New T/N member, long time Camry owner MOD questions

Hi everyone,

Happy to see a forum so wide in a variety of vehicles. Glad I found it. I have been a long time Camry owner... I had a 90 V6 DX until I got married, sold it and 2 years ago got a 2001 CE 4 cyl.

I have turned a few wrenches before. I also have a 1991 BMW 318is that I completely swapped the interior and dash, dropped and modified the front/rear suspension, cross-drilled brakes all around w/ new calipers. Of course the air intake has changed and I am running iridiums (I get 29 MPG running the dog poo out of it). I'm not trying to brag or anything, just that I know somewhat about what I want.

Here is my question... Has any Gen 4 owner... preferably 2001... done a post-cat O2 sensor bypass (http://www.o2simulator.com/index.php...products_id=17). I'm thinking strongly about it because due to age, my cat is stopping up and my initial O2 needs to be replaced. I'm wanting to put a resonater in place of the cat and increase the size (maybe .25 or .5 of the pipe coming out) of the exhaust - after the initial O2 sensor.

Let's start from there and see what comes.

Great, thanks. Now for the next question, how big have people gone for the pipe?

Where in TN do you live? As for cutting the cat out, I removed the cat on my 92 v6 after it had 170+k miles and honestly there was nothing wrong with it. Even with the car running rich for a while it didn't clog or anything. You could see through the entire honeycomb no problem.
