4th Generation Spooky... Both Silverlight Low Beams Gone Simultaneously

Okay... so about a year ago I bought a set of Siverstar 9003 ST/2 low/high beams for my 97 Camry... and yesterday both of the low beams went out at the same time. Bizarre... but I put the old bulbs back in (yes, I kept 'em) and they work fine... then I checked out my cool Silverstar bulbs and both of the low-beam filaments were fried... highs are just fine. What a bummer.

Has anyone else ever had both headlight low-beams fry the same day, possibly at the same time?

By the way, I never turn off the light switch... I let the "auto-off" driver door switch turn them off, and they burned out while it was daylight. I couldn't tell you whether it happened the same moment or just during the 30 minute drive to work that morning.

Power surge? Solar flares? Aliens? Skunk-works military satellite weaponry targeting error? Hillary Clinton's psychic anger over losing the nomination??

For Sale...

One pair Silverstar 9003 ST/2 bulbs! Low beams are out... but the high beams work great! Perfect choice for following drivers you don't like. Also great for pi$$ing off just about everyone driving the opposite direction. Simplifies your lumination options... no more distracting decisions about whether high or low beams are right for any given driving environment. Note: not recommended for fog.

Based on the poll, looks like it could be Hillary... you might want to stock up on low-beam bulbs just in case Obama doesn't choose her as a running mate...

HAHA! Nice! I have the 9005/9006 bulb setup. My Lows (9006) went out 1 day apart after about 1.5 hours. When 1 goes out, there is a little more power going to the other working bulb. So since they were installed at the same time, they have the same amount of ware. So that little extra power going to it, is just enough to burn it out as well.

Tin foil cap not needed, I guess...

Thanks ASG14!! That makes perfect sense, and it didn't occur to me...

I've removed my tinfoil cap that was protecting my brain from Hillary's negative psychic energy. I think tin foil caps might lead to premature hair loss, so I wear them only when absolutely necessary.
