3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It's a huge page, and I took the time to read the whole thing. Seems legit. I think I may pay the 100 bucks, look at the book, see what I think. Looks promising, and I did a little science fair thing on electrolysis awhile ago so I can kind of see the basics of what they are saying.
What do you think?

is a Do-It-Yourself, affordable and SIMPLE technology. No big science, all simple.
Water is supplemental to gasoline or diesel fuel - I have doubled fuel economy (61 MPG) in my Toyota Corolla 1999 shown above, and many more have doubled or even tripled their mileage. Too good to be true? Read on...
is SIMPLE to install/remove: the solution you've been looking for!
Boost performance while preventing smog.
You'll discover how to generate free energy in your car or truck.
seems kinda sketch. if this was such a miracle gas saver it would have been developed seriously years ago. yeah yeah yeah, "auto and oil companies hide stuff"....bla bla bla. still seems like the "loose 100lbs in a week diet" to me. but im as skeptical of this kida stuff as they come so try it and let us know.
Fucking scam artists......I know a guy that makes LEGIT versions of these.
#1: If you want a GOOD water injection system, your looking at $500+
#2: The BEST ones won't double you mpg.
My sentiments exactly. There is another thread in the Tundra section. The "science" make sense of how it works. But the fact is you can't create enough of it to do any real good. And like ASG14 said, doubling mileage is an ABSURD claim.
The only way for that to happen is if a 560 big block Ford truck was racing around and got 5 mpg. Then he installed the scam system, and got 10 mpg, but likely wasn't driving near as hard to justify the money he just spent. If you get 25 mpg in a car, you will not see 50 mpg.

This is all over the internet. Scam artists come out of the woodwork whenever gas prices spike. Did everyone sleep through chemistry class? I guess so from the numbers of people who believe this stuff.
"When they find out how to burn water and the gasoline car is gone. ...We'll all be drinking that free Bubble-Up and eating that rainbow stew."
Really, if Congress would put a hold on the EPA's ridiculous emissions standards, drop all the smog crap on vehicles, they would get an incredible amount of mileage.
Take the big rig I drive, if you could pull all the smog crap on it off, it would double the fuel mileage (5.5mpg atm). and yes, rigs use to get 9-10mpg. I bet lesser hp too.
I actually started a Toyota thread over at the guitar forum I frequent and as in discussion about cars, we got around to fuel cost. I mentioned this to one of the guys that works on cars and a lot of Toyota's (when they do eventually breakdown)
Here is his comments regarding reality or scam of the water4gas:
It is reality but those are really small generators for a car(hydrogen generators)it is (I feel) necessary to adjust the cars timing curve in the maps in the computer to really show any real gains,Hydrogen burns 10 times faster than gas so you really need to slow down timing and fuel to the engine. This is not rocket science and has been around for a long time, say since the 60's but its so easy to go down the street and fill up.Oil companies profit about 25 billion a year if hydrogen or other blends happen minus 15 to 20 of that if I was in the oil business I would not want you to know about this.Check out Stan Myers Strum.
The truth about these HHO (or brown's gas) generators is that there is not enough gas being generated even at 100% efficiency to run anything but the smallest of car engines. When you take into consideration the mechanical losses the engine encounters and the fact that the alternator will be working harder to power the device so it doesn;t kill your battery you aren;t looking at a device that can run a car for long at all.
HHO is however, very useful for boosting the efficiency of an internal combustion engine. Pair it with a well tuned economy car and you should be able to get several more mpg by augmenting the engine with HHO.

Except this ISNT a water injection system... explain to me why if you bubble that into a plastic bottle, put the lid on, light it on fire and watch it explode and fly 30 feet in the air... last i checked, water doesnt explode inless you run it thru electrolosys or however you spell it.
