Bizarre sunroof drain problem

I recently purchased a 1997 Camry LE and am in the process of repairing everything I can find wrong with it. While investigating a moisture problem in the trunk I found the ends of the sunroof drains inside the trunk but not draining outside the car. I knew this could not be right so after searching this forum I did the recommended test and poured water into the sunroof track. In the front, the water seemed to just run down into the carpet and then eventually leak out of the car along a seem where two parts if the body come together beneath the front of the drivers door and the back tubes just emptied into the trunk. I could not find any holes where the tubes were suppose to exit the car. Is it possible that the tubes were never correctly installed from the factory? At any rate, can anyone tell me specifically where the tubes are suppose to exit the body of the car so I can get them in the right place. I have found information about the general exit areas (like the front and rear tire wells) but I need to the know the exact location since it seems the end of the tubes are just loose inside the car. Any pictures that anyone could direct me to would be greatly appreciated. By the way, the tubes do appear to be connected correctly at the sunroof.

That is definitely strange. I've only ever seen them vent to the outside somewhere. Now I'm not sure about the front ones, but the rear ones on my '92 vent out.
On the trunk one the left and right you'll see where it goes into the reat quarter panels. Now on the inside of each of these respectively, there should be a hole about the size of a silver dollar where there is a rubber grommet. On the drivers side, there is one hole through it where the the drain hose fits snuggly into. On the passenger side is basically the same thing, but if you have a power antenna, it too will have the drain plug go through the same grommet. Usually the front ones drain down the A pillars and exit in a similar way.
Hope this helps you some.

Next steps...

Thanks! I found the two places in the trunk that you spoke of but there is just solid plugs in them so I am going the dealer to try to get the grommet that the tube can go thru. I am to take apart the front kick panels to see if there is a place for the tubes to exit there as well.

Would definitely do so. If the back ones aren't right, then I would definitely check to see if the front ones are or not. At least the plugs are in the back.

It is definitely an after market product that was not installed correctly.
