3rd Generation Trunk spoiler brake led

How do I wire this thing to the brake light? I think I might need to tape in the 3rd brake light but where do I route the wire(s)?

OK/WRONG WAY:
I ran them down next to the trunk brace till the end of the carpet, then leave a little slack for opening and closing, and run behind the side carpet to the rear brake light... either one...

if you take out the existing 3rd brake light bulb, the brake light failure indicator lamp will be on...

RIGHT WAY
run the wires up to that 3rd brake light to make the bulb check indicator work for that new spoiler light... there is an oval hole between the trunk and the cabin right under the existing 3rd brake light.
remove the 3rd brake light trim... pull toward you.
now remove the light fixture with the 2 bolts (12mm i think) now you see the oval hole right under the thin strip of the carpet...
if you cant see it... go around the back to the trunk... bend up the 2 middle tabs holding the wood/carpet down...
you should be able to push a wire through there with ease...
tie it in with the existing wiring and you are good to go. the red wire is the positive, white with black stripe, negative.
