Fuel Problems

Hey guys, sorry for a long first post, I'll put cliffs on the bottom.

I'm trying to fix my mom's 92 Camry LE for her. Right before winter, the fuel lines finally corroded right under the drivers side door. They sprayed gas on the brake lines too, which also corroded. I was able to start the car and get it into the garage, it sprayed fuel all over the ground but it did start and run.

I wound up dropping the gas tank and exhaust and re-doing all the lines. I used a bender and flare tool and got all my bends and connections done.. and I'm sure they are done right. I used the same size piping for all the lines, including the brake lines.

When I tried starting it, it would crank but not turn over, so I know I'm getting spark, but not fuel. I couldn't even hear the fuel pump turn on. I checked the fuse and the relay and both should be ok. I decided to take out the back seats to get access to the fuel pump and I removed it. I used a multi-tester and there is still current going through the pump.

Am I missing something? The fuel filter was replaced, and installed correctly. The lines were all brand new and are not clogged/kinked in any way. I can't figure this out. I've been trying to research and think it could possible be the PCM. Any thoughts?

cliffs: fuel lines were bad so I replaced them. Now the car won't start, and the fuel pump won't turn on (I used a mulit-tester and the pump should be OK).

Thanks in advance

Do you have the send and return lines swapped? Not sure (but don't believe) the fuel pressure regulator lets fuel circulate backwards.

I think I'm leaning towards this route.. I used a multi-tester, which basically just sends current through one point and measures how much current comes out at the other. I tested it on the positive and negative terminals of the fuel pump and it seemed ok. Now I'm just wondering if the pump is still fried. It just seems like too much of a coincidence for it to happen right now when it worked just a week ago.

No, the lines were all done one at a time so there really is no way I could have swapped them.

bump.. I'm going to get the Chiltons Manual now.. can anyone confirm that the fuel pump should be swapped? I just want to be sure that I'm not wasting $150.
