Well, thought I'd post up on my heap, and say thanks for those who've helped me thus far. Haven't had a chance to take picks yet, but been working on it since I got it, more so now since the weather is warmer and as time permits.
It's a '92 V6 LE silver taupe w/moonroof package, in great shape for the most part. Little things that needed fixing I've done and gotten out of the way. [a missing nob, burnt out dash lighting etc]
The biggest issue that's under my skin so to speak is the rear drivers' side door which has a bad rust spot. As of yet haven't found one in mint condition to replace it but will be done when I find a replacement.
Engine has been cleaned and working on a full tuneup, with the only real concern being it seems to be leaking oil from the o-ring in the oil assembly. Been ordered. Just waiting to hear from the dealership when it arrives. Did some wiring but have to finish routing them.
Front light housings have now been replaced by black depos, and talk about a difference! No street lights much of where I drive, so good lighting of the road is important. Clear bumper lenses will be going in as well. Should be here beginning of next week. Front bumper needs a painting due to a dumba$$ driver. Not sure if it's better to try to paint it, or just replace it with one in good shape. [opinions? suggestions?] Just don't like it how it is right now.
Tinting has been completed, and have put in a compass/light sensing rear view mirror. Looking at as well adding custom guage pods for some things. I've never been a fan of going by what an idiot light tells me over real factual info.
Suspension for now I'm not doing a lot with for the time being but body roll kinda bites, so want to do the TRD RSB and front strut brace to it. Being looking for a front strut brace around here, but so far nada. Looking at 17" rims. Thinking of using a 215 R45 tire on them. How well does this work?
Still need to rip out the rear speakers and replace with my infinities. Has oval pioneers in at present, but they distort too much for my liking.
Rear spoiler was added which has the LED rear brake light. Been debating puting in a body kit or not, so that's still up for debate, although I would like some sort of front lip and side skirting at least, if not a full fledged body kit. Not sure all that is out there and want to be sure when I do it. Front grill need to change too an thinking of going straight mesh.
Main things right now to be dealt with is finish giving it a tune-up and getting it running as well as it can [not that it runs bad now by any means]. Needs a good cleaning body wise and inside, and a good waxing. Who knows when it was last done if ever. Probably in the fall I'll be looking at replacing my front windshield and will most likely need to flush my heater core, as the heat just wasn't quite hot enough this past winter.
Not sure what else I want to do with it, but always ideas to mull over. Wasn't sure about this car when I got it, but I'm really growing to love how it drives and feels.
Agreed, a bullet hole would look better on the fender than that offense to good taste. Dumbest fad since POGS.
Odds of finding a door that's perfect are fairly low. But it's not hard to find a good, rust-free one and have
any minor damage repaired with filler and then repainted. Odds are that you won't get an exact match
on the paint anyway without repainting the car even if the door you get is from the same year and is
the same original factory color code.
If you replace your rims, I may want to buy your stock rims, assuming they're 15s, which I'm guessing
they are.
remove that fake vent ASAP. what could justify it? NOTHING!
It's not meant to simulate a vent or is even being used as a vent. It works for what I need until I find a solution of a balance of what I want for what my needs are. It's an interim quick fix that works.
So if I remove them, are you saying you're going to pay any fines I get?

If they were being used to look like a vent, I'd totally agree, but they're not. Don't need to get hassled until I find a permanent solution that I like.
For the door, I've come across a couple. Unfortunately someone purposely damaged one, and the other they put a car on top and crushed one of the top corners. True, the colour may be slightly off, but I'll deal with that as it comes. Just the corner on the existing is so bad, not worth keeping it. Better getting another without rust on it. Replaced my gas cover as the inner plastic was broken and was an exact match, so I'm keeping my figners crossed!
If I get rid of my stock rims I'll let you know [and yes, I believe all the alloys are 15"]. For now I need them for my winter tires. The alloys are hard to get up here compared to the black steelies for some reason, although I know one wreckers I go to that have some and only $65 each. [another one I go to wants $265ea for some unknown reason. OUCH!] I originally thought of getting another set, but would perfer 17's for my summer rims.
even if there is a ding, rust or hole there, i think it would look better than a fake vent.
other than that, the car looks great! i really like the color matched wheels.
Thanks! Rims are fairly easy to paint, especially since with older alloys the clearcoat is pretty much gone. I find it looks better than peeling clearcoat, cheaper than refinishing, and I've never been a huge fan of chrome. I tend to go for more gun metal colours. I painted my original jeep turbine rims and it worked great and stood up well to off-roading it so was a no brainer to do these ones. They were looking pretty bad.
Need to replace my front bug deflector too. Damn thing cracked at the one side GRRR!!!
As for the 'vents' if it was just rust or such, I'd just replace the fender. It's more involved than that, and don't need anymore fines. I will find a solution I can live with eventually. I have some ideas, but I'm getting then into things I have no clue how to do. Will have to do some R&D on it. I don't know much about doing bodywork other than welding in rotted out floors which doesn't have to look pretty. Just be functional.
Looks good man. I'd have the front bumper painted, alot ezer than replaceing it.
Been there!
Thanks! It's slowing coming along. I find it amazing with just a few things how you can make it a nice sporty looking car, and been having fun with it. A couple things I don't know exactly how I'm going to do yet, but it'll come. Most of the things that needed to be fixed I've done. Just the one door, the bumper and the passenger side mirror to do. [Some jackoff hit it in a parking lot cracking the case the first week I had it!]
Yes, having the bumper painted is definitely easier, but can't afford to do that, and no way I could paint it and look anywhere near like factory. There's also a brace underneath I see that's not in place right, so could fix that at the same time as well as see how it all fits in together. Would depend on finding a skin in A+ condition. Just with the new lights now in, the bumper really looks like crap because of the stupid woman who I hit. Nothing like having someone jump into moving traffic @80km/h from a near standstill with no room and think there's enough space. Lucky it only chipped some paint off of it. Could have been a hell of a lot worse, especially for the jetta in front of me who I still don't know how he made it around her.
