well im jus gonna spit it out my friend has an impala and we both got our cars at the same time and we have been competing of who can make their car the best, we race and i allways come so close and recently he got a k and n intake , some aftermarket headlights, and a hooker tuned muffler with this in his car it like made a popping sound. I was like insanly jealous of him
well i was think is there anyway of making it faster than his impala and i really want that exhaust popping sound
please help me out i already got an intake and not tryin to spend billions since its my first car and im an high school student
first of all, props for havin toyota, if u want to beat an impala, GET ANOTHER CAR!!!! CAMRYS ARE NOT PERFORMANCE VEHICLES AND WILL NEVER BE ONE! dont be a RICER youngin!!! now that i got that outta my system, That exhuasting popping sound is called a "backfire" most likely an exhaust leak that makin his car perform sluggish compared to normal impala, what year is it (tha impala)? IT may sound cool, but in reality it aint good for u car, only true performance cars may experience a backfire but not from an exhuast leak. Cool lookin headlights nad a K&N filter DOES NOT MAKE UR CAR FASTER!!!! AND STOP RACING, UR MAKING MY INSURANCE RATES SKY ROCKET!!!!! :ahhhh: :ahhhh:

yes it is a 1mzfe but i will never have 3000 with the price of gas and insurance and manitance needs
forgot it was an k and n intake system
but i only do racing at this drag strip in jersey should have put that there this is a closed place where its legal that cost 10 dollars
Yep this happened to me!!LOL Dam impalas!!(j/k) Well camry is not a race car like mentioned already. All you can do is make it look better since your friends made it better. Get some HID off ebay, and get some eyelids on those stock headlights and you ll boost your looks a little, maybe some clear turning signals or something. And try and race him with your A/C off and your windows up too maybe that l help with the whole resistance thing. RACING IS NOT A GOOD THING BY THE WAY
im not tryin to put money if it only dose it for looks
one of the main reason im tryin to boost a camry cause mad people who i hang wit say camry is a girls car and like ITs a CAMRY and also i like cars that dont look fast but are

Well performance wise there is only one solution supercharge the sucker! I herd of somebody who took out his seats, a/c components and window motors to make their camry lighter and faster, maybe thats a no money wasting solution!!LOL ((not recommended))
I can give some suggest on atheistic side, enough to make it look nicer than a "grandma car" as most of u highschooler call it, just so u can pick up chicks or some like that ...
But for GOD sake, dont try to blow the engine of such a good daily i-dont-haveto-take-da-bus ride ... enough said !!!
your options are limited to your budget. from what your saying exhaust components are the most expensive things you can afford. the best bang for your buck period will be modifying the stock Y-pipe. search around...there are pics so an exhaust shop can build ya one. other then that a highflow cat and catback and an intake is all ill bet you can afford. cuz the next step is manyal swap and forced induction.
I really want to do the manual swap one day but we'll see. Expect ALOT of pics for a DIY if I really do do it.
Really though, to make a camry more fun; upgrade suspension (tokico stuts and h&r springs or go coilovers which cost over $1.2k PLUS just for the coilovers and a trd rsb), swap a manual, and trd supercharger which are so high priced you might not at all. Lastly you can go for a custom turbo charged setup, which is what I would do but....yeah. Good luck
