Kenwood DNX7120 installed in my 00 Camry (Pictures)

Almost got all my "upgrades" done. Here are some photos of the Kenwood DNX7120 Radio/DVD/Navigation unit I installed. It was a super easy install and other than the screen sticking out about 1/4" from the console it looks like a stock navigation unit found in new(er) cars. Added the BT module that doesn't work so well with my blackberry, hopefully there will be a software update to fix it. Also going to add the HD radio and traffic module for the built in Garmin navigation.

Did you think about drilling holes in the factory brackets to push the unit back? I am thinking of doing it for 01 Camry. I just installed it last weekend.

Do you have cooling fan noise issue? Mine seems to be loud and not sure if it’s normal,
Were you able to hide the BT module inside the dash?

Thanks

I thought about drilling the brackets also but then there would be gap on each side of the monitor plus since I sit far back in the seat having the radio a little closer to me is a good thing.

Yea the fan can be heard when the car is off and the radio on, I don't here it while driving. I put the BT module under the drivers seat it was easy to run the cable with the seat out and it went under the console/carpet without pulling the center console out.

BTW the GPS antenna fits great if you shove it in the defroster vent slot in the center of the dash, it looks stock and the cable can be pushed down between the dash and windshield to hide it.

I have the 8120 installed and it sticks out like crazy. The brackets are way too small to drill holes into. I think I may need to custom make brackets to scoot it back
