3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've been toying with the notion awhile now of having fun suping up my Camry. I love the car, it really is very nice. But unfortunately...everytime I think of sinking all of my money into my car..I see something I like better. Truth be told, I've had a dream for three years of owning a Datsun 280z, and I just can't shake it. I keep seeing them in the paper, and...I dunno...I'm thinking of buying one.
Don't shoot me!
So if I decided to sell my prized Camry, which, don't kill me yet, I probably won't end up doing, how much would you pay?
Camry:
-1994 Camry LE
-4cyl 5SFE
-Auto Trans
-Tan/Gold Exterior
-Tan Cloth Interior
-Car has been family owned and babied it's entire life, wouldn't sell it to --anyone who didn't intend to baby it OR have fun with it.
-All maintenance records kept up, timing belt done, new radiator, etc
-Paint is pristine, minor surface scratch on the trunk that could be buffed out without a doubt, could probably use a wax.
-Power locks, windows
-Perfectly working/non leaking sunroof
-cold AC
-has the vibration at idle...no problems otherwise
-New front and rear pioneer speakers...which...honestly don't sound much different.
-Interior is nice and clean, so is trunk
-Never been wrecked or even dented...
-Less than 2k miles on good, all-weather tires-solid car in the snow
-Throttle body cleaned and engine seafoamed...drives and starts like new
-Seriously is a nice car and I love it.
-155,500 miles and counting.
What do you think? The car is in my signature.

although the car is maintained very very well- i can't say more than $4.5-5K for a 1993. Because even after all of your hard work and effort.. in the end- Its still none the less - a 15 year old car.
I think i'd be lucky if i break $6000 for my car. LOL
I understand that u might be into the "classic", the 240 does look alot like porsche though. However i dont know much about the Z line up but i guarantee it won't serve you daily as well as the camry... Assuming you know that too.
I bought mine 93 LE for 1.5k a year ago, and so far all the cost of modding up exceed the cost of the car itself, not mentioning about labor and time which can't be priced...
id say 3500 would be about the MOST ud get for it. honestly...if i were gonna buy an old car liek a datsun then id want a gen3 5sfe as my reliable DD old cars suck as DDs unless ya havbe LOTS of money to restore and maintain them.
i just got a 95 with 145k for 3g and its a v6. So I would say 2.7g top. Honestly IMO it's not worth it to sell that car, you'll get barely anything for it.

X's Two wit above. U might as well jus keep it, if i were to show interest to buy that car (this is under tha impression if i did not belong to this forum nor gave a rats ass if u baby it or not) id give u 2500 tops n thas pushing it. U got to be realistic, it is a 94, not exactly tha greatest of colors to appeal to the generic buyer (i personally dont care), n it got 150,000+ miles (again this is tha prime of the motor's life but most people or jus ignorant n dont realize it is a TOYOTA CAMRY ENGINE). Tha only thing u truly have on ur side is that it got no prollems n it is a 4 banger which is convenient for gas nowadays

I build cars the way I build them, anybody who thinks any different, well... they're just wrong
we simply love the fact that it is a reliable car but we will hate the fact that even if it drives like a new car, it is still an old old car which has lost most of its value over the years.
thus..we shall just simply drive them to the ground
Lol. Well...I was originally like...hey...if I sell the Camry...I can pay for a Datsun.
There's problems with that though...like...I could pay for the Datsun...but not it's upkeep or gas.
I don't know though. The Camry is worth more to me than three thousand dollars though...it's just too reliable and nice. I guess I'll just keep dreaming of Datsun Z's until I have a good job, some car knowledge, and time to work on it.
Meh. Thanks guys.
