94 Camry distributor problem, PLEASE HELP!!!! - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hi all,

I took the distributor cover, rotor, and dust cover off of my 94 Camry LE 2.2 and found this mess of fine copper wire and what appears to be string wraped around the shaft the rotor mounts on. I took some images but unfortunatly i can not post them. Can anyone tell me what this was or a possible idea of wht it may have been.

There are two pick-up coils inside the distributor. I can't imagine how it happened but maybe one of them came apart and wrapped around the shaft. That's the only source of a fine copper wire that I can think of.
