4th Generation Gen 4 v6 Noisy Lifters?

Can anyone tell me what the repeated clicking noise is? I'm thinking its the valves/ lifters.

If I'm right what can I do about?

I'm thinking about trying the Seafoam stuff everyone keeps talking about.

Toyota lifters are not hydraulic so no, they are not sticking and no additive is going to make any difference. A little noise is perfectly normal, a lot and they may need adjusting. There should be an underhood sticker with the clearance spec.

Thanks for your reply.

The clicking is a lot louder than it seems in the video so I guess I will go see about having them adjusted.

your sure its not an exhaust leak? when its at the manifold(usually the rear one) it sounds alot like lifters clacking.

any performance problems...that will usually acompany ANY problem with the valve train.

It seems to run fine. What kind of problems would the exhaust leak cause?

none unless its bad, then it may cause one of the O2 sensors to trip. id check teh exhaust manifold gaskets and see if they are leaking. put water in a spray bottle and spray them all around...best when the engine is on a cold start.

What ever the clicking is it is in sink with the motor. When I rev it the speed of the clicks goes up. So injectors would make sense.

So thats the way its supposed to sound?

yeah thats what just what the injectors sound like. you could place one finger on the injector and rev your engine and actaully feel the injector pulse if you wanna make sure its that.
try some seafoam through a tank of gas...actaully through the whole system.
