Two of them burned out on my radio, and I tried pulling one out and it broke. Is it possible to just pull them out somehow, maybe by turning it first? Or do I need to buy a whole new radio?
your going to need an soldering iron to replace them I believe if its LEDs on the board. I don't hear stories of LEDs on radios going out often, so I'm not sure if anybody here knows what to replace them with.
They look like LEDs but when you touch them, even before I broke it, they would kinda wiggle back and forth. So it doesn't seem like they are the part that it soldered in. There's definitly something soldered in though.
Yeah...I think I favor Alpine just from the selection I've seen at local places. Pioneer seems ok too. Haven't actually used any, but if I get an aftermarket one it'll probably be Alpine.
I also want to try to resolder some LED's...the ones behind the LCD screen on my radio went out, and I can't see what station the radio is on at night. Not urgent, but kind of annoying at times.

I just found a guy near me that is parting out his Camry, so I'm just gonna get his radio. It's really all I can afford right now, and I won't have to fuck around with adapters and all the installation problems.
Plus, if I access the LED's and not remove them, I can take the green plastic covers off of them and then they will match my gauges! Which is all I really set out to do originally...
