3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Seems a little too generic because it covers 4 generations of the Camry which has way too many different engines. They don't even say which engine its for, like 4cyl or V6.
For the generations listed, there are three different 4 cyl engines, and 4 different V6's.... I doubt its gonna fit any of those cars without modifications and some fabbing.
I've also wondered about how much it would cost to redo my interior leather. I think the best thing to do about that is open your yellow pages and look for custom interior shops in your area. Then start making some phone calls.
enjoy your V6 man and just save up the money don't buy the parts bit by bit and when you saved up over $2000 then think about it really hard if you want to do it.
Do some simple mods first like a weapon-r intake and a trd rear sway bar with possibly getting the tokico struts with lowering springs for better handling much better bang for the buck.
1. search function is your friend. lots of homework.
2. for the turbo...that kit is poo and just universal parts. there would still be LOTS of work involved if ya got that. there JUST happens to be a member selling a custom kit here on TN...and its cheap. FS: Gen 3 Camry Custom Turbocharger Kit for 1MZ-FE V6
this wont happen often so if ya REALLY wanna turbo..this is the best option.
3. for leather, either get leather seats out of anotehr camry or get these. there was a mamber on solaraguy.com who bought them and posted up about them...they look really great. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...m120259641528&
if your lookin for power from your cammy then id search through the turbo and supercharger threads here and especially on solaraguy.com. there are a couple people with turboed 1mzs over there and plenty of supercharged guys.
its gonna be a lot of work. Are you planning on doingit yourself? normal pricing for a fabricator is $90-120 bucks an hour. unless you got the time and a spare car to drive, I would attempt it.
Even if you do the fab you r still looking at injectors, some type of management, tunning, and a head-ache, and sometimes a heart-ache. lol . thank god for my 490 miles per tank 94' prelude, or I would have never been able to go to work.

800$ per week ? U make more than my 2 months budget, lol, and i work partime in college... That's why i have to wait till christmas for the moonroof ....
The "HATER" guys said it right, I've seen supra mark IV listed for 16k, be patient and then u can own it, and the whole street ...
i forgot to list all teh mods i already have dont to my car
i already have headers back exhaust with an injen short ram intake
18" konig tuner II's, full gabriel suspension (1.5" drop), 10% tint all around
carbon finber door pillars, pioneer avic d3 indash gps, 2 kicker 12'sthrough a 2000watt kenwood.
my friend just got a twin turbo supra engine put in his IS300. he just told me hs friend (the guy who just did the work on his swap), can use that kit and turbo mine for 2300. thats a littel more then i want to spend, so i might go some other roads with the car.
iwas think spending about 1200 on leatherizing the interior 2-tone black and beige. and buying tehe real carbon fiber dash kit, and put that in for 100$
then spend maybe 1000 more on lambos then maybe 500 on carbon fiber hood

TUrbo a supra and turbo a camry are way 2 different world, even though the labor and cost might be the same, but the result ain't worthy ...
There u go again, there's no point for body kits and carbon fiber if u dont turbo the car. Beside, lambos dont look good on sedan ...
if you aren't willing to spend 2300 dollars do not go turbo. I'm not being a hater, until i wrecked my Scepter (or Gen 3.5 Camry for the USDM :p) i was preparing to turbo and 5spd swap it. I'm simply saying, cars are an expensive hobby, if you aren't going to spend the dime and you can't do the work yourself, you should consider a new hobby.
a 2300 dollar turbo kit (for purchase of kit AND install) is going to be a shitty kit. A good turbo costs about 700-1000 by itself usually. For 2300 you are gonna get somone's leaf blower taped to your intake manifold.
Research, save, and pay the price or don't do it at all.
Go big or go home, half measures need not apply.

if you try hard, and buy some used parts (in good condition) from other ppl off forums and whatnot, you can probably get all the parts for $3000 ... then if you learn to do the work yourself, labor will be a negligible cost, so id say save up at least $3500 if you want a reliable & functional setup for entry-level boost
