$$$ paint job and tint job?

The car in question is my 94 Camry LE, pictured in my sig. I really was fine with the color until I saw this Honda Accord the other day, completely "tricked out" with this amazing dark blue paint job and tinted windows. I was completely in love with the color, and would love to get my car painted a similar dark blue color.

Now I know, I need to call around, but I was wondering if someone could give a ballpark estimate. A couple thousand? Something? Also, to have the windows professionally tinted, would you guys have a ballpark estimate for that?

I'm just thinking how that would look with a custom grille and the blacked out Depos. Man I need a job.

Thanks!

A decent paint job would be $2k. maybe less if you do the prep work yourself.

If you look around you can find tint places that can do 5 windows for $100, a lil more for 7 windows. Make sure they include a warranty and use quality tint.

Hmm...so tinting is very reasonable. That's good. I wasn't going to limo tint or anything that dark.

As for the paint job...wow. I'd love to do it myself, and I've seen many DIY threads about that...I just have no experience at all painting cars, and I have no materials or anything like that. Hmm.

Thanks guys.

I don't think it's economical to paint your car. IMO, go big or go home - no sense cheaping out with paint, expect to spend at least $3-4K to get a really good paint job.

I paid $185 for 35% tint all around, lifetime warranty from a shop that's been in business for 20+ years I believe. Tint is by far one of the cheapest and best 'mods' you can do to make your car look better. I regret not tinting my car sooner!

Maybe my estimate was too high. I just shudder at the thought of a cheap paint job ruining a Camry.

Oh and I went with dyed film tint. Ceramic tint was $285 but I wasn't digging the silver reflective tint.

agreed.. knowing the right people will help your wallet by a bunch..

paint can range from around $300 (macco.. sp?) to a few grand depending on where and what you want (paint, color scheme, etc..).

tint also varies on the how many windows you want to tint. can be as low as $140 to $350 depending where you go.. if its more then $350 for tinting windows i wouldnt do it. i got mine done for $200 for 7 windows plus removing my old tints.. but again it nice to know people..

FYI even if u do go to Macco, dont think u'll spend 300 n thas it, yea thas wat they'll charge u to maybe paint tha car, but masking, bodywork, clear coat, polish, and any repairs cost exra homie

Suggest staying with the tinted windows. A decent paint job is expensive, Macco will paint it but as Islandboy cringe at the idea of putting a mediocre paint job over OEM paint still in good condition.

Spend a few hundred on car toys and call it good.

Mmm....yeah I suppose. I think the tinted windows will hold me over for awhile haha...there's an endless list of things I want to do to this car, but I think suspension related things are next on the list of priorities.
