How to Disconnect the Alarm? (92)

I have a 92 camry v6 XLE with a factory alarm. The switch is down by the kick panel next to the emergency brake.

How do I remove it from the car? It is acting up and I dont use it anyways. Anyone have a clue how to do this? Ive searched the forums to no avail.

thanks

Robert

Do you know where the alarm computer module is? It's probably close to that switch. Try removing the kickpanel and look around. Follow the wire from the switch, see where it takes you. Then, on that module there should be a big clip on one side. If you no longer want the alarm, just remove the clip and all the wires connected to it.

It's wedged up under the lower panels under the steering column. I know...I disconnected mine when I pulled my dashboard out. They wedge it in there good and strap wires everywhere....so have fun. I just have mine switched to off (kick panel switch position towards front of car) until I get my remotes working again.

I have it switched to off, but it still beeps sometimes. I get a 4 beep rarely, ideas?

I just want to stop it period, I never use it.
