i'm looking at some new rims they are a 17/7 rim 5/114.3 bolt pattern and a 45 offset , my car is a 99 camry xle v6 . will these rims fit on my car , im not sure what size i can fit on this car?
tuck = pushed in towards the center of the car ... will cause less rubbing
most people like them to be flush, which means a lower offset, and pushed out towards the fenders
No dude...only less rubbing on the fender maybe. But it might rub on the struts.
Most likely spacers will be needed in the rear.
Higher offset means that from the center of the wheel, the mating surface is more towards the face of the wheel. Lower offset the mating surface is towards the back side of the wheel.
I had 17x7 wheels with 40 or 42mm offset and 215/50-17 tires and the tires were really close to the back struts. There was less than 5mm between the tire and the strut and I know it rubbed because there were shiny spots on the struts while the rest of it was dirty and matte black.

^ thats not usually what people refer to when they say "rubbing" ... usually our cars dont have enough dynamic camber to rub while moving - so as long as it clears the struts, then you should be okay
and it depends on the wheel somewhat, but i thought 17x7 +45 could clear for us...

i have 17x7s and 38mm offset and they are perfectly flush...but thats on a gen 4 which seems to favor a slightly higher offset when trying to flush the fenders then the gen3.
