Rear wheel alignment?

97 Camry LE. with 70k miles

I just noticed that I have irregular wear on my rear tires. The driver rear tire is feathered (it worn more on the outside, 3:1 ratio) . The passenger rear tire has the same feather effect, but it less pronounced.

Front Tires appear to wear evenly across.

Now the question I have is I heard that Camry has independent rear suspension.
Are the Camber, caster or Toe in are adjustable. I am assuming that my wheel alignment is way off causing the uneven wear.

1. What type of wheel alignment it need? (regular wheel alignment or 4 wheel alignment)

2. After the alignment is done, can I just use the tire in it original location?

3. There is still life in the tire can I left it in the same location, will this throw off the alignment again in the future?

Do you have pics? It might be just bad struts causing the wear like that. How your tires been rotated recently? I have never had my rear aligned on a car of mine. Usually it's the front that takes the beating with steering on top of wheel travel.

1) I'd probably do a 4 wheel adjustment, but I'd love to see pics.
2) Depends on how bad it is, but probably.
3) Usually tires won't throw the alignment off......unless there is a severe problem.

I would just get a 4-wheel alignment while youre there, a lot of places will warranty them up to a certain # of miles too ... Sounds like you have positive camber if your outside is wearing too much, but i guess it could also be a Toe problem - either way, it can be solved with an alignment

I'm not sure how bad the tires are, or if they can be rotated or left in their current positions - but any good tire shop or alignment shop should be able to tell you that as soon as they take a good look at the tires themselves.

Firestone has a Lifetime Warranty Alignment for about $150. We got this on BOTH our camrys. They will align it anytime we want, even after replacing parts that would affect the alignment.

Okay finally got some pictures

Here is a picture of my worst tire

This is an actually picture of the Passenger Rear tire

The front tires are somewhat in the same condition (thread depth) as the Passenger Rear tire without any indication of "feathering"
