A/C wont turn on.

I have a 91 corolla and the A/C clutch on the compressor will not turn on. I checked the low sid pressure and it read 75psi on a hot day. I do not know what the pressure should, book does not say. I do have a can of r-12, buty just want to make sure its not something else before I waste a can. Is there a reason that the clutch will not turn on? Is there a fuseable link? Any help would be great.

You need to post in the Corolla section and find out what the pressure should be, because if the pressure is too low, the clutch will not engage. And if the pressure is low, then you have a leak and you need to fix it before adding more coolant.
