3rd Generation 00-05 Celica,Corolla or Matrix steering wheel on Gen 3.5

did anybody actually try that w/o disabling the airbag as well as the cruise control buttons?

it just look good for a 3 spoke on a camry but of coz safety first so if i can do so what do i need? clock spring? connectors? etc

thanks guys!

watch out about airbags, as the original wheel has a single stage air bag whereas many new models have dual stage airbags.

+1

My gen 5.5 has a three-stage driver's side airbag - definitely gotta pay attention and get a single stage airbag equipped steering wheel for the gen 3.5. You definitely don't want to hook up (if the wiring harness is even the same) the wrong kind of airbag and find out when you need it the most!

thx for the heads up guys!
i think i've found the pic which somebody actually did put it on a camry.

i guess my main concern is. whether the airbag will be compatible or not. coz i take a look at the SRS diagram for both vehicle (my camry and celica) looks to me only have two terminals one + and -

that was ratko's car (the other person that I personally know had it on his car as well was option_fans)

and the SRS works- you just have to resplice it

and no, nobody's figured out how to make the cruise control work though

Wouldn't be too difficult. There would be mount points for the cruise stalk. Just cut an opening in the wheel back cover so the stalk can stick out, transplant the stalk, and wire them up. Of course, try fit the stalk first.

And I know how to extract the leads so if the leads fit I don't need to resplice unless the plug got cut off the airbag.
