3rd Generation switched circuit?

hey i want to install a power inverter in my trunk, its only going to be about a 400 watts but i want it to be on a switched circuit, is there any existing one in a 95 camry that i can just splice off of? or do i have to run it thru the firewall. thanks for your input in advance! just for the record i need about 20 amp circuit

oooor would i be better off spending a little more and getting like a 1000 watt inverter... in which case how on earth would i go about that...

It's safer to run it straight on it's own circuit with fuse to protect and custom switching it using a relay. Splicing into existing wiring could have negative effects especially considering it's an inverter.
Another way is typically running the power line underneath the vehicle, and into the back, but not sure how this would work on a camry.

You can do a search on here or google for how to setup a relay and a switch for lights. Works the same way. Switch triggers the relay which handles the power to the lights, or in your case inverter. I'd say use no less than a 30amp relay. Other thing is make sure you use a large enough guage wire from the battery. Don't go two thin. Probably same guage most amp kits use should be fine, and you should be able to ground it right in the trunk using a like cable for ground.

Good luck!
