I've got a '95 LE.
Battery Negative has two wires, one connects to the frame just under the battery and the other connects to the engine close to the starter. A replacement negative terminal wire costs about $16, just replace it if it looks worn.
Battery Positive - that one is a jumble of wires. One of those wires goes to the starter, after that I'm not sure, but if I remember right the whole thing costs $200 or $300 for a replacement from the dealer ( online prices,
www.toyotapartsales.com ). If the terminal clamp is worn/corroded it's an easy replacement, a new one is maybe $5 online?
About six weeks ago I replaced the battery negative cable with an OEM cable and I also replaced the positive terminal clamp and had the starter out / worked on / tested (replaced starters, reground plunger). The problem came back earlier this week but I've not had a chance to work on it. It's got to be the alternator. The only other thing would be a bad cable between the battery and the starter - I'm hoping it's the alternator.
