3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
At long last, after reading all the topics on white LEDs - I took the dive and bought some from ebay - the 5-LED type
Here is my dash cluster after replacing the stock bulbs - feel like I am driving a new car with the latest cluster - the old green one was so boring!! Sorry for the blurred photo - took from my phone camera....
The Camry is a car that I can rip out someone's pride, stab it, beat it, and completely bash their egos, and it's so ridiculous that the person comes back with a hysterical laugh... ROFL They got trainlengthed by a Camry that in their mind, was a 18 sec car.
If you don't want the hot spots or price for the LED'S just take the stock bulbs out, remove the green caps for an orange color. Or buy other colored bulbs. I think they are 194a bulbs or something. CarQuest would have them or any other auto store similar.
I thought the 5-LED type doesn't produce hot spot?
yes it does. i find the SMT flat surfaced LEDS work the best. they give an even 170 degree spread but cost a little bit more. I tried the one u mentioned and i cant stand the hot spots, so i ordered the 6 SMT leds from superbrightleds.com

I drive alot at night so I went with red, it's easier on the eyes and better for your night vision. I also replaced all the led's in the radio, and the bulbs for the climate control. Now i am trying to figure out how to make the clock red. Just using a red flim turns it sort of a gold amber, and if I add another layer of red film it is too dim to see during the day.
