3rd Generation Anyone use an Optima Battery for a 96 camry?

If so, did you have to get your battery with reverse polarity and/or longer wires?

I am keeping it because I had it through college. It has sentimental value to me.

nice collection of cars you got there

as for your question...if you just yank on the wiring harness a bit, you can make the battery cables long enough

I use an Optima red-top and it's actually simple. Since the ground wire is long enough, just hook that up from the side. Now the positive, you don't have to replace. I mean you can, but if you don't have to, then don't. Instead, just bend the 90 degree angle to make it straight, and it's long enough. I have videos on youtube showing my car using the optima red-top.

3rd Generation

I ended up going with a YellowTop Optima D35 from Advanced Auto Parts for $179.99 plus $25 rebate. It has the top post connections near the corners so my cables did not need to stretch at all. I hope this entry will benefit potential optima buyers. Thank you everyone for the responses.
