3rd Generation "Knocking"sound when braking

Guys,

Everytimes when i apply the brake it would make this knocking noise...any ideas what i be looking at before taking to my local mechanic ???

There are some spring clips (anti-rattle clips???) on each side of the brake pad where it's captured in the caliper assembly. Those springs sometimes break. That could be the source. If it is, that would be a cheap fix.

Or a brake pad could be coming apart, with the friction material separating from the steel backing plate. I had that happen once and it made some weird noises.

Or you could have a bad wheel bearing or a bad CV joint. Could be a lot of things.
