TPS, AFM adjustment, and open loop

Assuming I leaned out the engine in open loop via the AFM cog, would providing the maximum voltage to the ECU result in open loop all the time?

"repent harlequin!! said the ticktockman."

Sorry couldn't resist that!

I've done the mod and its running fine. As for remaining in open loop all the time...I didnt even think of that.

You win best post of the year! Ellison is awesome!

As for the open loop thing I saw it on a post by toysrme on another site for controlling fuel enrichment. I was thinking to recalibrate the AFM to the point where it's running pretty lean in open loop during normal driving, like at ~65mph or something on flat ground, so it would onlu be injecting 15th of max fueling or something. Then limit the movement or adjust the TB so that it couldn't go into open loop at WOT, since then it would be running stupid lean. Under the right conditions, hit the switch to send it into open loop during cruise in order to see better efficiency, at the cost of peak power.

That being said, something even cooler would be to always run in open loop and have some kind of reversable electric motor and a circuit that would take the info from a wideband oxygen sensor and automatically move the cog to whatever was the selected A:F ratio. Lean burn all the time.
