Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just bought H&R OE springs and KYB GR2 struts, and new Bridgestone Potenza 960 tires. don't have the springs and struts on yet, but will let u know how it all works out. The H&R OEs only lower 1", but form the wear patternthe original struts were toast (145,000 miles). Given my research, and that I was looking for a similar outcome, I agree with Venom 5. I'll let u know how the new setup works - Springs get here next week.
If you are using lower than stock sidewall tires this will make a huge difference as well.
soft and cushy? monroe sensatracks. cheap and affordable. can be bought in a kit with a mount and everything so install is super easy.

that is also true, i had Monroe Sensatrac's from Sears (they are OE-spec) with stock springs and it was just like OEM, basically .... make sure they are Sensatrac's and not the Quick-strut garbage

Something else to consider. If you're not going to drop the car, you'll want to take that into consideration when buying wheels. Anything 17" or larger will tend to make the car look lifted or "4-wheel drivish" if you're not dropping it. You may want to stay 16" or below if staying at stock height.
if your getting the quick shocks dont pay for labor. they are "quick" for a reason...easy to install. in any case doin it yourself will save hundreds of dollars i promise.
dont get monroe anything .... this is coming from a guy who's had a couple monroe setups before
get the KYBs and be done with crappy suspension .... also, suspension is a DIY must, ridiculous to pay for labor when the parts cost like $500 and its an install you can do alone in an afternoon

yeah? see in windsor .. there's a place where you can rent a garage bay for around $12/hr.. which is wicked cuz it allows you to hoist your car up.
but i'll be in toronto and i dont want to drive the car back with the shocks all gone..
will it be okay if i jack the car up and put it on stands? then just do one wheel at a time?
so.. NO monroe shocks? B/c I saw the sensatrac ones today at Canadian tire and they weren't that bad in price, like around $500 I could get all four, but that was just the shocks, no strut plates and nothing.
I think I'll start with getting just the shocks, I'll look into pricing for the KYB's and see if I need anything after that.
Will document it all.
