4th Generation Need some opinions

i was just crunching some numbers and i current find that i am getting 16.0 mpg on a 95% city and 5% highway, mind you that is number is also with a BUM transmission (does not want to go into overdrive) does this sound ok..

Mind you to me putting 70$ in gas into my car is a minor inconvenience at 5.26 a gallon {1.37 a liter} (yes thats what i said - thats what its is in Here in my part of Canada) but it is life

sounds about right if it wont go into overdrive. i know when i take my overdrive off the rpm shoots up and thats killing your gas mileage. when in a higher rpm you are wasting more gas.

funny thing is i am getting about a 10-15 better since making 3 changes
1. metal taping in the resonator between the airbox and manifold
2. adjsuting the transmission kick down cable to no slack at all
3. adding aftermarket Tach i had from my Corolla on the assumption that the cluster one was off and shows when it says 900 on the car on its actually 700 on my aftermarket one

i should haved added this before this in on a 3/4 tank with about 366.6 KM (227.7947 MI) mainly City Speeds of 35-50 mph (60-80 Kph) when the car is started it starts at 1500 then slowly goes to about 1100 when i go th gear i average 800-900 going no wheres until the engine warms up usually .25-.50 mi change gear @ 35 mph at 3000 rev when idleing after warmed up usally at 800-900 odd dip down to 700 where it tries to stall out..Myself personally i have found a salvage camry tranny with 160,000km or 100,000 mi for 465.00 CDN ones with less mileage as low as 80,000km or 50,000 mi for about 575.00 my main thing is my Camry is arthritic with 305000 km about 189520 mi and was not taken care of by the last owner and is starting to rust out in usually sports i hear: wheel weels trunk lid parts of door and some odd places toop of rook rear center of car at winsield
