It would help if you posted some information about what engine you have and year and such.
The I4's are known for their 'ticking'
92 Camry 4cyl 5SFE 5spd!!!!
The ticking is loud when I first staart my car. Then it subsides once the car is warmed up. As of late the ticking happens when I am driving and i let go of the accelerator and as the RPM drops to 1800-1500 RPM the ticking is noticeable. What u guys think?????

Determine if noise is a rod bearing, main bearing or valve train. If a bearing the engine needs major work. If the valve train you can easily remove the valve cover and take a look.
Determine if the noise is from the under the valve cover or down in the block.

2000 camry le The engine is a 4 cylinder and 90k miles, the noise is comming from the top and usually when i accelerate. Round about 2100 rpms...
Sometimes an exhaust manifold leak will sound like a ticking valve. I dont know much about the four cylinder engine, but the V-6 has mechanical, not hydraulic tappets, so some noise, especially cold, is ok, a lot and they may need adjustment, not cheap or easy on a FWD car with a V-6.
Suggest you pull the valve cover (an easy job) then examine the valve train. Look for signs of lack of lube on the lifters, cam lobes, gears etc that may have resulted in damage.
If you have a feeler gage set (low cost) you can check each lifter for excess clearance.
Don't run the engine with the cover off or you will have oil all over the place.
