3rd Generation 1994 Toyota Camry Auto 4cyl. Need Suggestions!!!

I'm planning on swapping out the motor for 3stge and swapping the transmission for the 5sfe....(i read in Project Magazine that the MR2 transmission with some modification would work on a celica...is that true to a Camry also???) And for the longest I have been wondering what is the stock Camry motor....LMAO....and what is the most i could make of it if i were to decide to work with it...??? any suggestion would be greatly appreciated....Thanks

Well... the tranny isn't the huge problem here. The drivetrain is.

MR2's are All Wheel Drive/Mid-Engine Vehicles, so swapping the 3GSTE into a camry would be VERY pricey and 99% custom work.

Not sure what you mean when you say, "And for the longest I have been wondering what is the stock Camry motor..."

Are you asking the engine code? A stock camry motor 4 cylinder from 1992-2001 is the 5S-FE.

Most you could make with a 5S-FE would be upwards of 300+ with a manual tranny swap, upgraded internals, and a good sized turbo.

Best Idea would to swap it out for a V-6 what i'm trying to do with my Camry.

Welcome to the site!

MR2 means mid engine rear wheel drive 2 seater, they were never AWD. The Celicas were AWD witht he 3s-gte though.

This is not an easy swap, plan to have the car down for a while.

Hah, well my main point was it is a pricey and time-consuming swap!!!

But thanks for the knowledge... I know very little about MR2's
