3rd Generation removing the dash airbag on 96 camry

can it be done easily? i dont wanna try anything without a little know how.

I know it is pretty easy to get to the wires back there, so if you just want to disable it you could probably just cut those, although I'd check with someone to make sure that wouldn't set it off. Under the glove compartment there is a plastic sheet that has one plastic thumb screw and then clicks into slots. if you take that off you can see everything under there. This is in a 93' but I imagine its almost the same in yours.

thanks a lot man. im not looking to disable it, im just looking to take it out to paint it. its a bitch trying to tape up the whole dash/windsheild.

If you want to do it the safe way. disconnect the battery for 15 mins make sure its 15 mins or more to disable the air bags. and then attempt to take it out =]
