Gen3 V6 Center Console

Anyone ever mod a V6 center console to fit in an I4?...you know the hand brake is there on the I4 but not on the V6?

The console on the V6 has more storage space and the wife could really use it.

So..anyone ever done it, or do I need to be a guinea pig?

well at least you can always find a center console at junkyards for gen 3 without too much trouble... at least compared to a gen 4

and as a side note dang you and your wife put a lot of miles on your cams haha!

Do you mean that the parking brake is not in the console on the V6? Perhaps that's just for the automatics, because on my 93 5-speed, the parking brake is down between the seats. I would think that mounding the console itself would be easy, just relocating the parking brake to the dash would be the trickier part.

Kindof ASG. What I REALLY would like is to KEEP the handbrake on her I4, but use the V6 console! I dont want to relocate anything.

Anyone ever done this?

And yes, the V6 autos had foot brakes.

Won;t work unless you get rid of the handbrake. If you get rid of it completely, it;s a 10 minute swap. Or else you need to convert to the foot brake.

Well, option #3 is to have a new box fiberglassed around the E-brake.

Why cant you just cut a slot for the e-brake?
